SKS Foundation accepts donations that are subsequently used to fund SKS Education and SKS Ultra Poor, two programs that operate out of our Indian NGO structure.

SKS Education was founded in 2001 to provide India's poor communities with access to quality education. Since launching, it has established 12 preschools in Andhra Pradesh. During the next five years, SKS Education plans to open 25 primary schools and correspondent libraries in rural locales to service the need for quality education in villages.

SKS Ultra Poor provides microfinance to the truly destitute -- a population that remains outside the realm of mainstream microfinance due to the extremely high cost of servicing it, and the elevated risk associated with non-repayment due to this population's precarious status. The goal is to eventually "graduate" these borrowers into SKS' mainstream microfinance program.
