Our Work

For more than ten years, SKS microfinance has provided opportunities for poor families to gradually lift themselves out of poverty. Microfinance serves as an important foundation for broader development, which includes improvements in health, education and political participation.

Our members have proved that with every loan disbursed and every micro-insurance policy provided, they gain greater control of their lives and help fulfill SKS' mission.

About Micofinace

Microfinance started with the belief that poor people have the capability to lift themselves out of poverty if they had access to affordable loans. Find out more about microfinance in this section.

What We Do

We provide loans to women members in poor regions of India for a range of income-generating activities. SKS also offers insurance products and emergency loans to its members.

How We Do

SKS Microfinance has adopted a for-profit model of operation, borrowed best practices from across industries and invested in technology to address the Capital, Capacity and Costs constraints of scaling microfinance.

Where We Work

SKS began operations in the Telangana region of Andhra Pradesh, one of the poorest parts of India. Today, our operations cover unbanked population across rural, semi-urban and urban areas of the country.

What Impact We Make

At SKS we are proud of improving the lives of millions through microfinance, which in turn fosters economic development. Within the microfinance sector, SKS has been able to distinguish itself through its performance.
