Manager – Procurement and Supply chain Management
Location of Position: Head Office

Reports to: AVP- Admin
Job Summary: This position is responsible for development of vendors across India for the existing Admin support services and products as per the sourcing plan. Should be able to plan and manage supply chain activity. And will lead, direct timely for cost effective development of all the vendors /suppliers and sub contractors.

  • Experience in a Senior Purchasing role, with a strong focus on vendor development and cost management.
  • Procurement methods and procedures of a large scale centralized purchasing function including buying, quality assurance, contract administration and contract law.
  • Possess sound knowledge of supply chain management processes and understanding of Technology, Product & the market dynamics. 
  • Proven commodity expertise in the areas of Admin procurements, services and other technical. 
  • Analytical ability and comfortable in a computerized environment
  • Knowledge of Laws, ordinances, rules, regulations, and other requirements governing the purchase of commodities and services for the City. 
  • Accounting practices as applied to procurement procedures.
  • Strong focus on vendor development and cost management. 
  • Good knowledge of Vendor base across India with proven track record. 
  • National exposure with Industry experience in the purchasing.
  • Documented examples where the person has led similar SCM management and delivered results consistent with requirements of this position. 
  • Strong business acumen and commercial skills & Capability to build and lead task driven teams. 
  • Aggressively pursue and create competitive purchase environment through constantly seeking alternative supply scenarios. 
  • Frame contract / long term contract execution. 
  • Act as dedicated Purchasing focal point for all new source developments and localization / standardization issues and initiatives in India. 
  • Facilitate the implementation of the National Sourcing Strategies for the different commodities. 
  • Ability to work autonomously and at the same time to contribute strongly as a team player.

Required Education and Experience:
  • 5+ years of progressive procurement experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of procurement principles, theories and processes.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of marketing strategies, processes, and available resources.
  • Records maintenance skills.
  • Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
  • Ability to plan a variety of menus.
  • Skill in the use of computers, preferably in a PC, Windows-based operating environment.
  • Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
  • Organizing and coordinating skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain recordkeeping systems and procedures.
  • Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control.
  • Ability to analyze event requests and to assess catering product and equipment requirements
